Since Heartfelt begin in 1987, words, unique designs and highly perceived products has been our goal and hopefully our legacy in the gift industry. Heartfelt products has always primarily been sentiment driven. It is amazing to see how our industry has changed in the last 25 plus years in this regard. Once upon a time, collectables and plush had the monopoly. Now more than ever before, sentiments or statements are on many different products and product formats. Making my strong point! "Words Matter."

Heartfelt New Product Releases for Fall 2016. LoveLea Down Home Collection to debut

LoveLea Down Home Collection

For nearly 30 years, Lea Metts, writer, designer and founder of the Heartfelt Collection, has been embraced by the gift industry.  Believing that, “Words Matter” and creating products that are trend forward, and have a high perceived value, was her goal throughout these many years. Writing meaningful sentiment verses for the Heartfelt Collections remain her greatest passion.

The LoveLea Down Home Collection, takes us back to a simpler time of life. Recollections of fresh country air, down come cookin’, leisure moments on the porch and fellowship with family and friends was the inspiration for this design concept by Lea Metts. So much of who she is stems from the legacy of her parents and grandparents. When she reflects on her memories of “Down Home” her heart fondly remembers her warm thoughts of family, food, fellowship and faith.

A Heartfelt Word

The time, energy and effort to get product from concept to final product can be staggering some days.  The trend analysis, product research, demographics, deliverance and execution take many, many months to prepare. The entire central focus is what will the consumer want or need, what appeals to the consumer eye and what will make this product unique and different from other like products on the market? That is one tall order which we all face. This objective is both exciting and challenging to say the least.

It takes a village in any company to take a concept and create it into something that is the best it can possibly be. I am fortunate enough to have a great village of peers who help make this happen for the Heartfelt new product introductions each season. We are currently finalizing the Spring 2016 concepts and hope to bring forth some of our best products ever.  I can hardly wait to see the fruition of our labor.

The Heart of Heartfelt

One of my biggest struggles in life is wanting to have complete control of my own little world and I am challenged daily because of it. I wake every morning, lay this burden (sin) at the foot of the cross, ask the Lord to help me surrender it and within the hour, I take it back.  Ever done that?

My heart really wants to honor Him in all I do, yet many times I don’t. Reminds me of Paul in Romans 7:24 where he states: “O wretched man that I am”! But he then states:  “Who will deliver him… I thank God – through Jesus Christ our Lord!”  There is my hope for my own struggle.  The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him and I am helped. I will wait on the Lord; and be of good courage for He shall strengthen my heart!

Happy Easter! The three most sacred days for Christians all over the world. Jesus became one of us to save us, to deliver us from death, to give us real and lasting life. He waits for us to choose Him, as He has chosen us. This Easter, may you come to know Him and His love for you, for you are precious to Him.

This statement was offered by Christian Brands today to all its employees in regard to the Easter holiday. I feel so blessed to have operated a Christian company for over 25 years and now be a part of a company that still has Christ as its foundation. It makes what I do easy because I get to work for the Lord in all the work I do.

May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

A Heartfelt Word

Last month definitely presented it challenges for the Gift Industry. The extreme weather in some parts of the country has played havoc with Retailers. Manufacturers have the on-going issues with the dock situation on the West coast, presenting problems for both!

I am particularly frustrated that we can’t deliver what we said we could to our customers. The helpless feeling that there is nothing we can do to get our product in the stores on the dates we said we could, because this situation is out of our control. The dollars lost in revenue will be substantial and will be felt by all.

 

My hope is that with our newest product releases we will be able to still fulfill the needs of our customers in their year round sales, not just the occasion driven sales.  Please visit our Spring 15 catalog to see all our new introductions at www.CB-Gift.com.

 

The Heart of Heartfelt

Last month, was particularly hard for me as I lost three immediate family members.  One was unexpected, one was my father, and lastly, our 95 year old grandmother. Hence, my posting with my “Words of Wisdom” this month, in celebrating the special moments with those you love. I truly celebrate the lives of these family members and cherish all my special moments with each of them. As a believer, I am comforted to know they are resting in a better place, experiencing the joys of heaven and no longer sick and in pain.

As I am in great anticipation for Spring to arrive, I am also committed to letting those I care about know how much I love and cherish them and to keep a positive outlook on the matters at hand in our industry. Hoping and praying for a better March!

A HEARTFELT WORD

Having just returned from the January shows, I can say happily that it was somewhat like the old days… more buyers on the halls, optimism and hefty buying.  We saw many old friends and new alike, which is always the highlight of my show travel. Having Jim Shore in attendance in Atlanta was an extra special treat. What a gracious and sincere gentleman he was. We are so proud to have a license for some of his products.

Every word is like a heart beat! The can be strong and powerful. They can be sharp and pierce. They can be wane and faint. They can be steady and constantly life altering. They can heal and uplift the soul. Every Word!

As the majority writer for all the Heartfelt products I often feel a strong responsibility for the verses I write or choose to publish. From my early days a child I have had a strong respect, emotional ties and deep knowledge of their power. It is my passion for the Heartfelt brand to represent the most meaningful and uplifting words that it can. As its writer, I take this task to heart.

My prayer is for all of us to use our words wisely, to speak kindly and to learn to better love one another…  beginning in the heart and going forth in our words.

A Heartfelt Word

Not a day goes by that we do not remember how grateful we are for our retail customers and the consumers that purchase our products. There are so many excellent products in our market and we feel honored each and every time when your dollars are spent on a Heartfelt product.

Fourth quarter, for most of our vendors, is very critical to the bottom line and remaining healthy for their continued survival of this ever changing market.  We desire always to make the customer experience with Heartfelt a pleasant one and to do whatever we can to insure the best possible products from our company. We pray for a healthy and strong holiday season and that your dedication and hard work be blessed and rewarded abundantly.

I have discovered that appreciating and savoring the good moments significantly increases my joy, happiness and life satisfaction. Feeling gratitude inspires me to remember special times with family and friends, memorable relationships with customers and co-workers and most importantly, my love and appreciation for my personal relationship with God.
